About

CartVoltage exists to answer one question that thousands of golf cart owners search every month: which lithium battery actually fits my cart, and what else do I need to make the swap work?

Most of what’s online about lithium golf cart conversions is either a retailer’s product page, a five-year-old forum thread, or a “best of” list that never mentions charger plugs, tray dimensions or the Club Car OBC. We built this site to fill that gap with organized, source-backed information.

What we cover

  • Fitment by cart model — EZGO, Club Car, Yamaha, ICON and Evolution: voltage, tray size, charger port, and model-specific quirks like the Club Car On-Board Computer
  • Battery comparisons — 36V, 48V and 72V lithium packs compared on the specs that matter: BMS current, capacity, case, charger, certification
  • Chargers and accessories — plug types, charge voltages, voltage reducers, meters
  • Installation and troubleshooting — step-by-step conversions and fixes for the problems that show up after the swap

Who writes CartVoltage

CartVoltage is written by Dr. Muhammad Naeem, a lithium-ion battery engineer with over ten years in LFP cell and pack development. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, where his research focused on LFP and LTO electrodes for lithium-ion flow batteries, and a Master of Engineering from King Saud University.

He currently leads LFP battery pack design and development — including BMS integration, cell qualification and pack validation — as Assistant General Manager at ACM Lithium Batteries, and consults on lithium battery manufacturing for Bonsai Technology in Italy. That background is why this site spends so much time on the things retailer listings skip: what a BMS current rating actually means for a cart on a hill, why charge voltage matters more than charger brand, and how to read a spec sheet.

What this site is not: a test lab. Fitment and comparison data come from manufacturer datasheets and owner’s manuals, organized and interpreted by someone who designs these packs for a living. Where we haven’t verified something ourselves, we say so. LinkedIn profile.

How we work

Every spec on this site comes from a manufacturer datasheet, product page or owner’s manual, and we link the source where we can. We do not run a test lab and we don’t claim to. When owners on forums report real-world fitment or range, we describe it as owner-reported. When a spec is missing or unclear, the table says “not stated” rather than guessing. The full approach is in our editorial policy.

How we make money

CartVoltage is reader-supported. Some links on the site are affiliate links — if you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences which products appear in our tables or how they’re ranked. Details in our affiliate disclosure.
